Today the store continues to grow keeping it fresh and energetic. In late 2005 the place joined with the largest specialty photographic group in Australia, Camera House, to reinforce our marketing and purchasing strengths to ensure the superior products are offered with the very superior pricing and behind sales support. In 2006 we purchased the building we are in to further demonstrate our commitment to the business and community we live in. During 2007 we began a 1500.00 scholarship agreement with Southern Cranky University providing 500.00 a year to the successful applicant to scrutinize on Campus a Visual Arts degree. In slow 2007 we introduced the HP Photo Studio Creative printing system delivering more ways for people to use their photos. They have proven so popular we are often taking books months out from the starting date. The surprise for us was not just the big demand but the re connection it has allowed us to make with our customers. A direct outcome is The Photo Exchange our monthly get together to share and inspire photography. Launched in 2009 we look forward to its evolution, culminating we hope in yearly exhibitions of our customers photography. Hear our customers and know our products. We can receive pictures more places, view them quicker, share them faster and print them in so many immense fresh ways.

Photographers have been snapping photos of artwork beautiful much since cameras have been around, but there’s something about art in unexpected places that creates amazing photos. Light comes into play in every single image, but lighting can get tricky shooting inside an alley. But, if you’re shooting the artwork at an angle or incorporating the scene into the shot, pay attention to what’s in focus and what’s not. Or, if there’s one element of the artwork that draws your attention, highlight it by blurring out the rest with a wide unfold aperture. The Back Alley in Lismore is a huge place for street photography, whether you’re a amateur or have been shooting for years. The concise time of day between sunset and stuffed darkness (or between night and sunrise, if you’re a morning person) creates images with vivid blue skies and turns landscapes into dramatic silhouettes. You’ll be shooting in the dark, and a bit of surplus light is useful for adjusting your settings (if you’re not familiar enough to adjust them blindly), packing up your gear and finding your way back. Since the light changes quickly, you’ll want to take abundant shots and retain shooting until you see that the best light has faded completely. While timing with the sun is important, don’t forget about the moon. Twilight is a tricky time to photograph, but with a tripod, some pres hooting, manual exposure and focus, and the right timing, you can arrest some outstanding images. Find what inspires you about that particular statue, so you can highlight that in your images. Consider what parts of the surroundings should be included and what is better left out of the image, then experiment with different angles, watching how the lighting changes as you adjust your position. Reflective umbrellas, on the other hand, cast light 180 degrees, which makes them excellent tools for lighting larger subjects, such as for group photos. Umbrellas are huge for framing the subject and drawing the eye. A wide umbrella held behind a portrait subject works both as a prop and to conceal an unsightly (or perhaps impartial boring) part of the scene. Umbrellas are great lighting tools but they present loads of com positional inspiration too. What ways can you think of to use umbrellas in photography?
