I am a qualified early childhood educator registered to operate a Commonwealth Government approved childcare service with Northern Rivers Family Day Care since 2003. Children are supervised at all times during the day include during sleep/rest times. Safety checklists and audits are carried out on a daily basis. It is my Philosophy that all children will be safe and well cared for. All equipment is well maintained and renewed regularly. There is also a 'hidden garden' with walking track with features of interest. Bamboo screening has been installed in a 'secret garden' to give children a sense of privacy whilst still permitting adult supervision. There are large shady trees, plus an extensive lawn area with a huge sandpit and a 'pebble island' designed for safe use by infants and toddlers. There is a beautiful outdoor play and learning environment which has been designed specifically for the interest and needs of young children. I enjoy constructing and presenting activities and materials so they are arranged in provoking and inviting ways to encourage exploration, learning and inquiry. I place a high emphasis on planning and designing the environment to provide high-quality play-based experiences to foster children's learning and development. The children have the opportunity to resource their own learning through connecting with people, places, technologies and natural and processed materials. My daily schedule includes active indoor and outdoor physical play, integration of music movement and creative expression, and at times I am as physically engaged in active play as the children. My aim is to provide a weekly program that reflects the children's interests and developmental needs as well as embracing culture and diversity in collaboration with families using my service. (more).
