The star court theatre is an iconic and much loved venue in lismore with a capacity of 390 people. We also screen regular art house films. We have baby grand on the stage. We are also decorating this bar in the european salon style for use as a wine bar. We have a lighting rig, sound equipment, and a great team of technicians both for sound and lighting available. We have a fully licenced bar in the venue, which is quite separate to the auditorium. Many fine musicians and performers appreciate the wonderful acoustics. Rare nowadays is the sense of theatre and excitement which one notices as soon as one enters the grand auditorium. The venue, whilst having quite a large capacity, still keeps an intimate atmosphere. The new launch of this theatre has created quite a buzz in lismore and residents are very keen to support the come-back of this much loved venue. We have recently done a refurb, a stunning red/gold design, putting in new carpet throughout the bar and auditorium, and have also restored all the beautiful old timber flooring. This is a beautiful theatre, dating back to 1921, nth nsw, an iconic venue in lismore, seating 390 patrons very comfortably on fixed tiered seating. With a seating capacity of 1500 and with dimmer lights, plush seats and quality acoustics, the Star Court was aptly named. Musical Festival Society productions as well as ABC Celebrity Concerts and other live performances were held as well as the screening of the ever popular feature films. In 1963 the stalls were sealed off and an arcade of shops built into the space. The upstairs balcony was altered and made into a new proscenium.
